Leeds (UK), Aug. 9 : England fast bowler Stuart Broad blasted his team’s brainless batsmen as its dream of winning the Ashes appeared to evaporate on the second day of the Headingley Test.

England at 82-5 in their second innings is still 261 runs away from avoiding an innings defeat.

The Sun quoted all-rounder Broad, as saying: "We''re disappointed because we''ve made the same mistakes again in the second innings that we made in the first. We''ve lost wickets in clumps. To lose five wickets for only 23 runs was really disappointing.”

"I thought the Australians bowled fantastically but, it was a shame we made the same mistakes," he added.

Ravi Bopara was out first ball, Ian Bell made just three, Paul Collingwood four, England skipper Andrew Strauss 32 and fellow opener Alastair Cook 30.

Broad - who had earlier claimed a career-best 6-91 as Australia chalked up a whopping first innings total of 445 - added: "Australia have some highly talented players but we are focusing on what we have done badly in this game."

England still need 82 runs to avoid their heaviest ever Ashes defeat on home soil. (ANI)

Chennai, July 31 : The 16th World Junior Men Squash Championship and 13th World Junior Women Squash Championship with participants from over 28 countries is being played at Chennai.

Over 100 girls and 60 boys from USA, Canada, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Singapore, Kuwait, Egypt and all European countries have assembled to clinch the world championship titles.

Major (Retd) S. Maniam, Director of Coaching; Asian Squash Federation (ASF) said that India''s top seed Dipika Pallikal stands a good chance of winning the tournament.

“I think she (Dipika Pallikal) stands a very bright chance. I have had look at most of the senior players in this tournament and I think she stands a good chance,” said Major
(Retd) S. Maniam.

Meanwhile, top seed and defending champion Mohammed El Shorbagy of Egypt said that he is confident that he would win the championship, as he is familiar with Indian courts.

“I came to India twice. It''s like I know the place and I know the court because I played here before, which may be an advantage for me,” said Shorbagy.

However, some participants said that playing in Indian conditions and playing against so many international players would be quite challenging.

“It''s a lot more hard to play against other people from the whole world because within Europe we know each other very well, so, we know kind of how we each other play. But, it''s much more hard to play here,” said Manna Frederiksen from Denmark.(ANI)

The West Indies cricket board has retained the new inexperienced squad for the second test match against Bangladesh which has been scheduled to start from on Friday.

The only change in the West Indies squad has been the addition of the batsman Ryan Hinds in the team while Kraigg Brathwaite and Jamaican André Creary have been allowed to play in the domestic three-day tournament.

The West Indies squad for the second test includes Floyd Reifer (capt), Darren Sammy (vc), Ryan Austin, David Bernard Jr, Tino Best, Travis Dowlin, Ryan Hinds, Kevin McClean, Nikita Miller, Nelon Pascal, Omar Phillips, Dale Richards, Kemar Roach and Chadwick Walton.
